Key objectives

The school acts as an academic resource for medical and healthcare professionals in the region. This is accomplished through the provision of high quality professional development and postgraduate education and by fostering research.

  • Regional stakeholders to develop high quality CPD for medical and healthcare professionals
  • NHS colleagues to support the training of newly qualified doctors
  • Deanery colleagues to support the development of trainers
  • Higher Education Academy Subject Centres to develop specialist networks in medicine, health, veterinary, dental and social care.
  • Colleagues in Higher Education and the NHS to develop our research activity
  • Academic partnerships with the Department of Health, Diabetes UK, major pharmaceutical companies.
